By Robert B. Holman, Senior Pastor

It is the intent of The Creator, Blessed is He, and His Son, YeShua HaMashiach, that those who embrace faith in Him be Messianic believers.  This is in reference to His Son, the Messiah meaning Anointed One, and his teachings of scriptures.

There are basic differences of belief that Messianic believers have from those who are Christian. Messianic believers:

Believe that the name of the only begotten Son of the Father is YeShua, his birth name given to him by his mother Mary in obedience to the Father.  He is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords and the one who will return at the second coming.

Adhere to Hebraic scriptures as being pure and inerrant. Known as the Masoretic text they are manuscripts written in the ancient Hebrew Aleph-Beis running right to left.  These scriptures are known as the Tanakh. The Tanakh consist of the Torah, Prophets, and Writings.  As the perfect Son, YeShua taught and adhered to these scriptures.

Believe that the Ten Commandments require absolute obedience as The Creator, Blessed Be He, has asked.  Also, that it is a carnal sin to add to or subtract from them.  Sh’mot (Exodus) 19:5, 5; D’varim (Deuteronomy) 4:2

Believe that keeping the Sabbath Holy, as well as celebrating the Festivals, are an essential of faith in The Creator, Blessed is He, and is not just relative to Jews. B’midbar (Numbers) 15:15; Sh’mot (Exodus) 20:8; Vayikra (Leviticus) 23:1-8; D’varim (Deuteronomy) 16:16

The change from worship on the Sabbath, to the First day of the week began with the Epistle of Barnabas and the Christians in Alexandria AD 115 -140.  http://www.the7thday.org/. (See timeline.)  There are numerous documented historical accounts that refer to this change; the majority of which can be found on the World Wide Web.  Adonai does not change Mal’akhi (Malachi) 3:6.

Do not believe that the (Law) Torah has been done away.  This is not the teaching of scripture.

The Torah is more than Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.  Within these writings are the “seven pillars of wisdom” Mishlei (Proverbs) 9:1.

The Torah is the ‘Mark’, as opposed to sin which is missing the ‘Mark’.

The Torah is the wisdom and a teaching of The Creator, Blessed is He as referenced in the Writings Proverbs.

The Torah is the Father’s instructions in righteousness

The Torah  is the scriptures breathed by the Father and is valuable for teaching the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in right living (2 Timothy 3:16).

The Torah describes and defines the lifestyle of the believer.
